What do river ships look like?

Working on a river cruise ship is not just a job – it’s a specific way of life. While guests enjoy luxury, comfort, and beautiful landscapes, the crew is responsible for ensuring everything runs smoothly. At first glance, a ship with four levels and a length of about 120 meters might seem small. However, everything on board is perfectly organized, and about 50 crew members are responsible for the smooth operation of the ship, from the kitchen to the cabins.

In the kitchen, around ten chefs prepare meals for the guests as well as for the crew, in spaces that are relatively narrow compared to large restaurants. The fast-paced work, combined with the requirement to prepare numerous perfect meals each day, means that every team member must be ready to act quickly, precisely, and in coordination with others. Despite the limited space, teamwork and experience ensure everything operates flawlessly.

The restaurant, lounge, and bar are areas where waiters have their hands full. While guests enjoy their meals, the crew is responsible for setting tables, serving food and drinks, preparing cocktails, and maintaining order. All of these tasks must be completed quickly and efficiently, as every moment on the ship must be in sync with a rhythm that ensures maximum comfort and enjoyment for the guests.

The cabins are, of course, an essential part of ship life. Guests are accommodated in luxurious cabins with large windows or balconies, where they can enjoy views of the river. Keeping the cabins clean is the responsibility of the cabin stewards, who work hard to ensure every detail is immaculately clean and tidy, so guests always have a comfortable stay.

On ships with additional amenities, guests can enjoy spa treatments and massages, use the pool and Jacuzzi, or visit the hair salon. Therapists and hairstylists work to ensure that guests relax and enjoy every moment of their time on board.
